Tenkane is owned by the cuisine-ryokan Kinjohro. They have only seven counter seats that you can see the skilled chef cooking tempura in front of you. Handpicked ingredients, such as fresh seafood from the Sea of Japan, or seasonal vegetables, will be lightly battered and freshly fried. This will amuse you while you are waiting for your meal.

The name Kenjotei literally means a “castle-viewing house”. It’s located just next to Katsurazakaguchi toll booth in Kenrokuen garden. Though Kaikaro is also known for their strict, referral-based admittance policy or “ichigensan okotowari” for evening performances, you can take a house tour of this traditional building during the daylight hours.
